About Dr. Stephen Tsai
Dr. Stephen Tsai, MD FRCPC, is a Royal College certified general pediatrician.
Dr. Tsai grew up in Surrey, pursued his studies in Psychology at McGill University, and subsequently returned to UBC for medical school. He completed his specialty training in Pediatrics through UBC at the BC Children's Hospital. As a pediatrician, Dr. Tsai is committed to serving patients and their families, providing patient centered care that is family focused. He has a keen interest in mental health, child behavior, and development.
In addition to his busy office practice in South Surrey, Dr. Tsai also serves as Vice President and on the Board of Directors of the BC Pediatric Society. He is also a consultant at the Asante Centre where he takes part in multidisciplinary assessments for children with chronic and complex neurodevelopmental conditions. In his spare time, he enjoys fitness, racquet sports, and exploring the city with his wife and daughter.
Dr. Tsai is fluent in English and Mandarin.

Please note that as of August 1st, 2023, due to a large and growing waitlist, Dr. Tsai is only able to receive referrals for the following: Mental health / Development referrals. Referrals for siblings of existing patients, or re-referrals for patients who have previously be seen by Dr. Tsai in the past, will continue to be accepted. Please see your primary care provider for a referral.
Dr. Tsai provides consultations for children from birth until age 18. You will need a referral from your primary care provider to be seen by Dr. Tsai.
As a general pediatrician, Dr. Tsai consults on and manages conditions including:
Poor weight gain, growth problems
Learning challenges
Social challenges
Behavioral disorders
Asthma
Eczema
Constipation
...and many more
Please note, Dr. Tsai does not see patients for the following:
